That's an excellent tool and it should be the go to for pretty much almost all use cases, thank you.

Disc based patching tends to require more specialized tools, sometimes even a patcher unique to the game in question, but we'll cross that bridge when we have to.
Indeed. Thankfully though, it can be done, but it'll probably take a pretty long time

Hello everyone, I had a question regarding the PS1 Resident Evil: True Director's Cut, included within the downloaded file is a README that say's to patch the track 1 of the game. The downloaded file also includes a playable version of the game that appears to be pre-patched, but I'm not 100% certain it is without playing the game all the way through. I thought someone might know some information about this and can enlighten me. The xdelta patch also doesn't work and gives me an error, which makes me think maybe it's already patched, thank for your help. The error is XD3 invalid input, but the source file is the correct one.

It all seems to indicate it is already patched. I can check the patch readme to see if the author has supplied CRC numbers and the like. Those are a pretty good way to tell if the file has been patched or not.

how do I find those values?

I noticed there is a track verification on duckstation and it said my tracks haven't been verified, then when I verify on redump, it says cant be found. serial mismatch it says

Okay, I compressed them but not seeing any CRC numbers.

Okay, I believe I have figured it out, the version I have is pre-patched. Sorry for all the trouble, duckstation shows some parameters and I finally found that the numbers are different. Cheers

They should really make a note in the readme about this. It doesn't make sense to me to provide a pre-patched game in the same file as patch instructions. They cancel each other out, but really appreciate the effort and work put into the project.

I agree that pre patched needs to be specified. It's not a good method of distribution because you have to re-download something big instead of small. Glad you figured it out anyway.

Thank you, I can confirm that the game is pre-patched, I finished it last night, was very fun, first time seeing all the uncensored dialogue and cut scenes. Having the original USA version memorized, it was really cool to see all the new stuff, Barry has some interesting dialogue were he speaks fast and raises his voice quickly, it adds to the voice acting humor. Thanks for your time and help again, I really appreciate it.

Is anyone able to patch Rock Band 3 for the Wii into Rock Band 3 Deluxe? (https://rb3dx.milohax.org) I've tried on my Steam Deck but no dice. As per the instructions I should just have to drop my .wbfs file into the extracted folder and run patch-images.sh

Well double-clicking the shell script seems to do nothing, and running it in konsole just gets me a quick error message.

I took a look at the install script. It looks like there are other programs you need to download in order for it to patch. Most of them should be built in to the Steam Deck, but I imagine 'wit' and 'wszst' will probably need to be installed from somewhere
