What a great time to play this game again.

I'm glad for any newcomers that enjoy this release - Blood is one of the best games of all time. Maybe even my personal favourite FPS ever. Absolute banger and anyone who enjoys FPS games should absolutely play it.
That said, this re-remaster is some absolute nonsense.

Maybe I'm being too cynical, but the way I see it this release almost looks as though Atari is testing the waters for ways to charge their customers for something as basic as patching their games. Or at the very least how much they can get away with.

There is absolutely no good reason beyond publisher greed they couldn't either let Nightdive fix up Fresh Supply or give this version out to previous buyers of that version, but no - they're charging a whopping 27 bucks for this instead, while willingly leaving the older release unfixed and even removing it from stores so that this is now the only (incidentally remarkably more expensive) way to buy Blood anymore.

Nightdive makes quality games, but the Atari buyout has led them in a direction I plain cannot stand.

It was originally only available on PC as far as I am aware, so porting it to everything else for the first time ever is the big deal with this release. Doesn't excuse the pricing, but at least it's widely available now.

Atari being cheap is a definite factor in it's pricing for what is essentially a port.

Did they tighten it up at all? It was an okay enough remaster, but it felt off compared to the original. Like you said, Blood is an all-time great and part of that is how damn good it feels to play. But Fresh Supply was missing something. Like the shooting and hit detection felt incorrect or something.

Either way, I'm glad console players get to try Blood in some fashion and Death Wish is one of the most impressive mods I've ever played (excluding those that fully replace the whole dang game).

So yeah, despite what they've added to it I think with the DOS and Fresh Supply versions I'm entirely fine since I can always use BloodGDX, Nblood and NotBlood.

Yeah Fresh Supply was definitely a tad off - completely playable as such, but not perfect. Absolutely something that could have been fixed with a couple patches, but Atari of course decided against that.

As far as I can gather the new version has its own, completely separate set of tech issues so far.
Apparently there's no longer a true 3D rendering mode, there are issues with sound effects, some gameplay glitches (like the classic deadly closing doors that crush players for example) and and and - so this version is definitely wonky in its own right. It's messy all around.

also they removed the Acclaim and Monolith logos so as to insert Atari who had nothing to do with the originals
They removed the Monolith logo? That's wildly disrespectful, holy hell.

Yea, the excuse of extra content rings hollow when they could have offered a deeper discount for existing Fresh Supply owners or just made it a simple patch on PC with the new content as an optional download
