Vita3k Compatibility (PC): Ingame- does lag while doing fights on the Vita3k. Tested with Vulkan When game first boots there will be a screen with Japanese text and it will not allow you to continue, press the "O" button a few times and it will let you play after. No way of testing this on actual Vita hardware sorry. Does work with Vita3k while installing it as NoNpDm. Lag can be a bit much but it is playable.

for every one of these I see and want, with no english patch, we instead get 6 english patched shitty VN games. The world is cruel.

I know little about the series and can't speak much Japanese so I'm not sure how some mechanics work. Despite that, I highly recommend trying it. Very cool mech/fighter pilot action hybrid.

I don't think it's on Sony. Bandai could have easily add the rest of the game's contant in the form of a patch, for everyone to be able to play it. However they decided to release it in form of free DLC instaed. Despite each DLC on PSN being region locked.

In case it won't be uploaded to DLC/Extras section, I will add here a mediafire link with the all missing DLC and the 2nd cour of the story mode.

No, but there is a handful translation guide on gamefaqs. It provides images of partially translated menu and options. This game has arcade structure, so it's very easy to grasp without even being able to read the texts.
This would have affected anyone that needed to go onto the psn store to get it though, and you'd be right, bandai could have just released a patch instead.

That just screwed over anyone that imported it, especially given that delta was given english subs on blu ray solely so western fans could buy it and circumvent the weird ban on macross at the time due to rights issues.

Sony did a really cruel thing locking the one account on a PS Vita, as anyone that imported would not be able to play the rest of the game as they'd need a JPN account to download the update.

You can get the update on a modded vita though, if that may be deterring anyone from playing it. It's the best macross game, easily, and can be enjoyed as intended by getting the update by any means.

The rune pika edition of the game can be found on internet archives, since it's not on the repo yet, and has all the songs with lyrics, many of the delta songs are actually pretty great so long as someone doesn't hate delta with a passion.

This is all for anyone that might be reading the comments and considering whether or not to play it.

Like 30 on the ps3, it runs best on OG hardware and doesn't seem to run as well when emulated.

I literally purchased a modded PSVita some time ago for this game because the sheer awesomeness it is. Rune Pika Edition is the way to go, with all DLC - like people already said, a huge portion of the game was added later. Sadly RPE doesn't work on Vita3K so playing with real console is must. Those extra songs are great. The best Macross game especially if you like Delta.

Peak mecha gameplay.

Important note: 2nd half of the story mode is locked behind DLC which you need to download separately.

Also if anyone is intrested there is also special edition of this game (PCSG00953).
It doesn't have any bonus content, levels or scenarios but it adds 30 additional songs.
I wasn't able to find the proper rap file for the special edition. Spent months last year looking

I actually have this one! ::winkfelix I prefer the psp frontier ones, since like others have mentioned at release it was only half of the story.

This one truly is peak. It capitalises on all the gameplay imrpvements from 30 and puts it into the mission structure similar to the frontier games. The back half of the game does need to be downloaded though, as it is barebones in it's base form so it could make the release date.

Easily the best of the macross games mechanically and the gameplay is as close as it will ever get to feeling like the show.

Shame art dink haven't done any macross since and if we're to get any of these games remastered and released in the west or even any new big budget games, all the OG and DYRL SDFM chracters will need to be replaced by flashback 2012 onward variants. I can see big west doing this as they have Flashback Minmay on all the advertising at anime expo a few days ago, as the front and centre character I should add, macross 2 arcade game was announced a few days ago and released on July 10th from arcade archives.

Sadly I was having a hard time trying to find it that is compatible with the Vita3k. So far most that I have tried do not want to work with it.
