Little-Big-Adventure-EUR-PSX-Front-cover.jpg

A fantastic adventure and one of my favourite games. My own take on it (no spoilers): In a tirannic and distopic world, Twinsen is imprisoned for acting suspicious. His initiative and altruistic nature will move him to help those around him and discover a major conflict running in the world where evil Dr. Funfrock is believed to be a Titan among humans. Languages Voices: English, French, German Subtitles: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish

Even though PS2 games are mostly on DVD, you have to use the CD version or it compresses them wrong. You have to use the DVD option to convert PSP iso to CHD or they won't work right. Hopefully we get GDI support at some point... And also lossy audio so I don't have to use CHDman.com 😂

You can use the CHD app on Android to decompress it
Yeah... The app is still very much in beta (as of writing this).
I attempted to convert "Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire" for PC Engine CD with CHDroid, but it didn't work no matter what I did. I proceeded to email the app's developer about it and he's currently looking into fixing this bug.

For a while, there was no way to natively convert ISO files to CHD on Android. All you really had was using CHDman via Winlator.

I'm not too familiar with CHDman, but CHDroid offers various options for converting ISOs (Merging BIN files, different compression methods like Zstd, and the option to select from CD-ROM or DVD (for PS2 games).

Thanks now I get where you were coming from ::coolstafy

This is incredibly interesting, for newbs (like me) could you explain why the Winlator + Chdman combination was needed (to achieve what?) and what doe CHDroid resolve instead (and does it change what tools to use?)

Thank you! ::peacemario

Huh. That's interesting because my potato phone supports the CHD format just fine.

Maybe try different emulators with CHD support? That's my best guess.🤔

As someone who had grown accustomed to the ISO + BIN/CUE format for many years and has only now tested CHD with a couple games... Yeah, I don't think I can ever go back to downloading image based games the old fashioned way.

It's like trying out "Dark Mode" for the very first time.:loldog

Speaking of "chdman", I just happened upon "CHDroid". This app came out a month ago and is in early access, but now you no longer need to use a combination of "Winlator" + "Chdman"!

Certified classic, the remake does not exists.
(The remake) Couldn't get my head around it yet, tried 2 times already, will need a bit more time to get back to it and finally play with passion. I'm sure it will give back because at the source the exquisite minds are still there, just have to jump some mental hoops to find the right motivation ::coolstafy

CHD is the best format today, Less Size, Everything (New) can load it and some games even perform better also is more simple to transform to iso/bin.cue format ::huhsonic

ISO up! Out of curiosity, which device is incompatible?

Explaining how to extract it actually could be a good idea, will consider it.. mm also comes to mind that many people download the file on portable dvice (non-windows devices) where these operations are tough or can't even be done (no chdmame as far as I know?)

Well, there seems to be some effort to get chdman to work on android but it seems it has mixed results, example: https://www.reddit.com/r/EmulationO...edefinitiveconvert_your_games_with_chdman_on/

nice! thanks!
I think this is from the creator of the first Alone in the dark.
Yes, Frédérick Raynal - A legend if you ask me - Would really like one day to have a chat with such a disruptive genious, please check out 2Dark as well!

Honestly I haven't played this game but it looks good for a PS1 game with isometric perspective and how good it is in CHD format to reduce the storage space of the game and without the need to decompress it.

I absolutely love this game! Also thanks for uploading it in chd format, it would be nice if this would become the standard for image based games on rgt!
I used to think so much about this game as a child, the release was also quite rare and never had the chance to get a ps1 one, so I played the DOS version but desperately wanted the elusive console version ::chocobo-wave

For CHD, very glad it's appreciated! It's the only format I use for this system and if it works will continue doing so!
