If you suddenly had a billion dollars

I would play video games all day everyday and hire a chef for me and my cat to i can focus on only video games. I might also get into robotics and build a good robot like megaman

Being rich with money is a thing but let's not forget that being rich can also mean in many other ways.

There's also knowledge and experience that brings riches.

Also, regardless of money, if there's no longer any food, water, warm to bring then bills become just useless paper.

PS: I remember that one extract from Kaiji regarding what means being rich

Robot body
Like Samuel Hayden?

Cool on paper but if your mental health deteriorates (from living longer or even having a different body) that would be a big issue.

What would do if you suddenly had 1 billion dollars? What would you do? What would you buy? Where would you go? For me, I'd fulfill my cafe/apartment dreams making it adjacent to the other stores including an arcade, but located on a coast somewhere with all the things needed such as a yacht as well as an RV. Then I'd give my family at least 20 million each before investing a fat chunk of it, maybe keeping 200 million as a sort of rain check.

I've never been a materialistic person, perhaps because I was always taught to be grateful for what I have.

In any case, if I ever win, I'd make sure to do good (renovate schools, promote the construction of sports or cultural centers, donate to the poor). Not before building my long-awaited collection of movies, comics, video games, and books. Or opening a bookstore—that would be even better.

With that alone, I'd be able to sleep much better at night.

Who the hell's that?

You're not giving enough credit to the fact that people who have medical conditions or are already unhealthy would greatly benefit from a better-working body; lungs, legs, back, neck. So many things would not be a problem for me anymore, or rather, it would be like trading for a new set of problems: keeping my legs oiled, making sure my breathing stays on, keeping everything plugged in and charged, making sure to put in a little elbow grease. Lol

Who the hell's that?
A character from Doom 2016 and Eternal. He's the director of the UAC and has a robotic body because he had a cancer.

If they can afford it.

I would spend them on a excellent PC, and spend it on consoles and stuff to mod them

Someone bored or chaotic would create death games such as the ones we see in Kaiji (or maybe Running Man) with either criminals or people in debt.

World Hunger can be solved but that would be a logistical hell which would probably cost more than the food itself. Remember that energy and food creation is actually easy, transport with the least loss possible is the hardest part.

Researches for a new form of energy can work but converting the consumers to it would take time and ressources, we didn't swap from vapour to nuclear, wind and photoelectric in one day.

How much is a small country by the way? Can you buy one like you'd buy a house?

I only want a ranch style house with a catio. That's like a screened in porch for cats. I don't require a mansion or a fleet of sportscars. I can't even drive. :loldog

I'd like to open up a cat rescue and a pet food/vet fund bank. What I'd really like to do is grow my billion until I become a multi-billionaire and put the money into developing low cost housing for everybody. If I was the world's richest woman I'd work towards getting people out of poverty and off the street. I want people to not have to worry about medical costs when they get sick.

But these are pipe dreams. The best I could do is take some of my billion and put it towards some local project, scholarship funds ect...

Invest half, hide the other half away in a remote location.

I don't even know how to conceptualize that kind of money tbh. I'd put it into local communities, pay off all my friends/family's debts, get myself a new car and a nice house with some extra bedrooms so I could house friends who need a cheap place to live. Honestly you could give me like $500k and that's more than I'd know what to do with.

Like $200-250k on a house, $30-50k on a new car, $10-15k on the dream gaming setup with my dream CRT, high end PC and every console with its respective everdrive/ODE for modding. After that idk what I'd do with the rest. Maybe start a cat cafe since I've always wanted to do so!
