Unreal my love.gif

In high school, my friends and I would hangout in the engineering/computer classroom and play like 10 matches of Unreal Tournament over LAN during our lunch period. I often think back to those days and I'm often met with sadness and disdain that Epic Games removed Unreal Tournament from the platform, effectively ending any mainstream-online service. If any of you fine folks happen to know how to play Unreal Tournament with other people, please let a *soda know.

Best,
DietPepsi

Unreal tournament never deserved to be replaced by fortnite .

The series had its rough spots with UT3 but it was perfect . The speed , the weapons , the auto-trash-talk , the music and especially the treasure trove of mods .

Its still multiplayer-perfection.

Dude I loved UT3, I'd give anything to play it again

What a throwback, I used to play it on my laptop against bots, because I didn't know how to use internet (pretty sure I didn't even have internet back then). I also didn't know English but somehow managed to start up a match (Foreign language for me). I didn't even know how Unreal Tournament ended up on my laptop, but hey, I fell in-love with it instantly. ::beer

I ended up re-playing UT last month, gameplay is still solid and dual enforcers rule.
I missed out on the initial UT release due to owning a poor PC, but I did grab UT 2004. That had some great stuff in there, and the mods too. I sunk many hours into Air Buccaneers.

Back in High School my only real experience for an online shooter was UT2004. Sure I was on dial up and could never download that huge update that added more vehicles and levels, but I had a great time with the base game playing Onslaught and Assault. I still love reading the VG Cats comic they did on UT2004.

UT2004 was a big part of my Senior Year of highschool. I used to play it every morning in our networking class. We built our own network, and basically did lan parties off of it. I loved that game...

Lowkey, I still hop on 04' from time-to-time to get my fix.
I gettcha, man.

I was so hyped during the development of the last cancelled UT game. I remember that there was a dedicated channel on youtube and devs would even play frequently on the servers.
Then Epic decided to "take a break" and development slowed down a ton, and Epic decided to let the community help with it. We still had hopes up but after Fortnite became so popular and every fucking dev jumped on that ship we just got crushed.
The cherry on the cake was when Epic decided to give a big final "fuck you" to the series, oh well.

My disappointment and burning ire were immeasurable.

Honestly I wish Epic would just relinquish the IP and let fans carry it. They don't want anything to do with it anyway and all they care about is Fortnite.

man I have so many memories of playing UT2004 with my cousin during our sleepovers when we were younger, we would spend hours looking for mods and playing
