How would YOU make a platformer shooter?

What would YOUR retro arcade shooter be like?

Megaman clone? Something else? Let's hear it!!

My game would be a 2D platformer with three difficulty levels: easy, normal, and hard. Each boss fight would require creative thinking, riddles, and quiz answers.

Jokes aside, a sort of platformer and Danmaku hybrid? Think of it like Contra controllers but Soul Knight esque enemy patterns, or an arena shooter where you are tasked not to survive a certain time ammount, but to kill all the enemies in the room
