Hello people, I hope you all are doing well!

A few days ago I saw a trailer for a game called PRISON OF HUSKS. The game graphics and art reminded me of PS2 games (that two games that popped in my mind the moment I saw the trailer were Ico and King's Field The Ancient City).

I love ps2-era graphics! So, any of you known (and recommend) any game that follows this aesthetics? (the gameplay can be "modern" but I don't mind if the game are true to the ps2-era mechanics)

Thank you very much!

Here's the Steam page for the game, for reference:

And here is the video where I saw the trailer:

Oh wow, that looks fantastic! Thanks for the recommendation, that's absolutely going on my list!

I'm assuming you mean modern games?
PS2 aesthetics seem to be fairly rare as far as I've seen. If it's not pixel art or a more vague retro look, PSX seems to be the go-to for the most part.

Really more of a Dreamcast hommage, but maybe Bomb Rush Cyberfunk would fit the bill?

Also, since you mention King's Field, maybe Lunacid?
That game doesn't necessarily make me think PS2, but I can't really nail down what makes a game feel like a PS2 game aesthetically in the first place, now that I think about it...

Went through my collection and the only other one that stood out was El Paso, Elsewhere, but only because that game is a Max Payne callback, not because it has the aesthetics of one.

This is tough! Hope other people have some ideas, I'd definitely be interested as well.

To me, that game kinda straddles the line between PS1 and PS2 so I'm not sure if these count but I'll mention them anyways. Not out yet though.
Labyrinth of the Demon King
.45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND
I've been looking forward to Labyrinth of the Demon King for ages now!
That game is looking so damn promising, glad others are aware of it as well, it seems to be flying under the radar for the most part.

Had never heard of .45 Parabellum before, thanks for mentioning it!

Found one!

No idea what it is, just that it involves frying eggs, smooth jazz and PS2 aesthetics. What more could anyone ask for?

HollowBody: is the most close you are going to get a PS2 game in this decade. Basically is a survival horror using as a base the gameplay of Silent Hill 2. And the game got a lot of updates like a first person mode and a third person mode a la Resident evil 4.

Lunacid is in my list for quite a while, I have to played it soon! And thank you for the recommendation! Didn't know Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. I also love Dreamcast vibes

Wow, Labyrinth of the Demon King looks amazing! Thank you for the recommendation. And .45 PARABELLUM BLOODHOUND's already on my radar. I love the other game from Sukeban Games.
