How many cases you know?

And most importantly of all... How far can you go?

Some examples:

- PS Vita can emulate PSP. Via PSP emulation you can access GBA emulation.

- PC can emulate Android via Bluestacks. You can install PPSSPP on Bluestacks. PPSSPP has a functioning Sega Genesis Emulator.

Ignoring the fact that a virtual machine can run virtual machines, making it possible to do so to an infinite depth, if we talk about different systems, then, Mac OS running a VM of Windows, running a VM of BSD, running RPCS3, running a PS2 emulator to run a PS1 emulator which can run Linux and with Linux you can again emulate numerous systems. For example a GBC and play NES games on it.

I only know one case where this applies...well, I guess many of them. Literally almost all the arcade/Mega Drive/Master System/whatever compilations released for GameCube, PS2, Xbox and PSP are emulated ROMs packaged with a nice front end, and they will basically run on their respective PC and Android emulators

Think New Amsterdam GIF by NBC

It can definitely be done

well in know on the Wii u (modded) you can go in to Wii mode and if modded that can play GC games and correct me if I'm wrong there's a way to play N64 Zelda on a GC Zelda game, or you can play animal crossing and play the nes games

Psvita emulates PSP to emulate PS1 to play Pac Man World in which you can emulate the original Pac Man

Can anyone go deeper than this? I suppose if you emulate the psvita on pc

I emulate Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color, PS1, PS2, Genesis, SNES, Arcade and Virtual Boy on PS3.

I also run a Jaguar emulator and a DOS emulator on Android.

Oh actually… I’m pretty sure the GameCube collection of sonic uses roms
If you emulate that you’re emulating a rom on a rom :’ )

That's not entirely true. The only part of the PSP that's emulated is the GPU (and that's why you can use GEPatch to increase PSP games' resolution), the Vita has an actual PSP processor inside.
ah haa, a wise man::biggrin

Yes so its like partial emu, similar to how ps1 on psp is also partially native; also did konkey kong 64 emulate the og DK or was it a port? Because if it was emulation then you could use a pc to emulate the wii to emulate dk64 to emulate DK...

What is an Hamlethor ?
An illegitimate son of Hamlet & Thor... ?

It was a new version of the game. For many, many years Nintendo didn't have the rights to the code from the arcade version (it was programmed by Ikegami Tsushinki and they retained the rights), that's why it took until 2018 for the actual arcade version to be rereleased in some form.

GoldenEye 007, however, does actually have an emulator inside. A ZX Spectrum emulator that is normally innaccesible in-game, at that.

SO THATS WHY THEY BAFFLINGLY NEVER RE RELEASED THE ACTUAL DONKEY KONG ARCADE!!
Thank you so much dude Ive always been wondering that

and then... BOOM goes the brain! ?

I would recommend against it but then I played Phantasy Star 1 on the GBA and Metal Gear 1 in Subsistence on the PS2 because I got lazy to configure a MSX-2 emulator.
The results are surprisingly ok sometimes

There is a theory that we're all living in a simulation, a la 'The Matrix'. If that's true, isn't ANY emulation an emulated emulation?

Now that I think about it, playing original Xbox games on Xbox One/Series is exactly this. The console is running an Xbox 360 emulator, and then it runs the 360's original Xbox emulator to play the game. Micrososoft even made new versions of the emulator exclusively of One/Series, and people extracted them to find that they run just fine on the 360.
