What do you think is the problem? Low power in smartphones or optimization in emulators?
For you, what is the best solution or in any case the most possible?

AetherSX2 works well enough, haven't used it in a while though but it ran most of what I wanted, some games though like sly or ratchet series didn't run well.

Every PS2 game I've played so far runs at a smooth 60fps with AetherSX2. Then again I have a phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It didn't run so hot on my Pixel 6.

Using Aether on the Odin 2 pro, I’ve had 3 games that had issues if I didn’t use the software renderer. Never had an unplayable experience with default settings though. I really wish it was still being worked on, but it does the job as is

There is a special adapter you have to use to connect your PS2 to directly your phone and use the phone as your screen. You must carry the PS2 with you in public in a big backpack and look like a douchebag.

Hay un adaptador especial que debes usar para conectar tu PS2 directamente a tu teléfono y usar el teléfono como pantalla. Debes llevar la PS2 contigo en público en una mochila grande y parecer un idiota.
You would only need a 12v battery to power the console and you would have the semi-official portable PS2 hahaha.

It's just a software issue. Even on something as old as the Snapdragon 845, you can play most Gamecube games at default settings just fine. So PS2 shouldn't realistically be a problem power-wise to emulate.

The problem is that the android emulation user community is a very well known nightmare of entitled brats that will harass developers off the platform. If AetherSX2 kept being developed, I imagine that power requirements would've gone down, since right now power is brute forcing a lot of potential issues with the software.

I use NetherSX2 on 2022 motorola with a mali chipset and these are my graphics settings

The only real issues I've noticed was some slowdown in Soul Caliber 3 on stages with sunlight and some 2d games but usually if I switched to the software renderer those worked. Ps2 games that were emulating other systems like the neogeo tended to run pretty slow too.

Si lo siento, quise decir NetherSX2 se me cruzaron los nombres

Can someone recommend the best and simple PS2 emulator for android?
Need help, please

Nethersx2 is great, just a shame the games I want to play are unplayable. Tried Knights of the Temple recently and it is as laggy as can be. Tried changing settings, to no avail. Adding that to the list of Baldur's Gate & Champions of Norrath, you just kinda let out a sigh.
In saying that, it seems most other rpg's run fine.. Just not the crpg's for the most part.

I mean, on the bright side, Knights of the Temple and the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 are also on Gamecube, and run fine through Dolphin. Does leave out Dark Alliance 2 and Champions of Norrath though.

Tried Dark Alliance 1 on gamecube with tweaked settings. The tweaked settings made it run perfectly with no lag until I got a bit further in the sewers (early game). Some warning came up with a choice (Ok or Ignore for this session). I tried both. Both just crash the emulator. Cheers for the reply, think the phone itself just can't handle it.
