Source: https://romhackplaza.org/romhacks/capcom-vs-snk-2-pro-playstation-2/ What is this? This update to CvS2 basically intends to back port most of the key fixes from CvS2 EO into the original home version of CvS2 (which already had its own fixes), while also fixing a few outstanding bugs the EO version didn’t fix, adding in a progressive mode (which the PS2 version never had), and updating some of the text to address various spelling errors, inconsistencies, etc. In general it doesn’t try to overstep its bounds in terms of balance, sticking mostly to official EO changes, but there is one thing it does very differently from […]

On android it actually looks better interlaced, apply some blur-blend based de-interlacing and it looks more pleasing to emulate than the dreamcast version since the progressive mode looks too pixelated.

Thanks! I tested it on a CRT monitor via the PS2's native VGA output and it works and looks beautifully.::dkapproves

I've been playing it a lot over the past few months with Felixthecat1970's patch, which also enables Progressive Scan and unlocks characters.
Hello !
I'm trying to make it work on the grimdoomer exfat mod but I can't do it in 480p patch. Are you in exfat if so what are your settings (game settings mode 1... 6) to make it work?

Thank you

I tested it on OPL via HDD, and the game had no music sound, just sound effects and voices, does anyone know how to solve it?

that's a whole lot of changes and there's even more that whats shown here!?
...i have played CVS2 so much on XBOX EO version and really never thought anything was wrong with it.
Roll cancel glitch from the ps2/arcade (which is almost the whole reason why only those versions are used competitively) is now turned into an actual gameplay mechanic (that’s easier to execute but takes some of your guard meter in exchange, and there’s a visual to show you pulled it off).

In the ps2, roll cancel let you make any special or super move invincible for the same duration of a roll and literally costed nothing (since it’s a glitch) and only required a 2-3 frame execution which is even less than half a second. but it’s the most powerful option that take make a bad character able to compete with an overpowered character. there were some bad glitches also on the ps2/arcade version that favored certain walls or gave player 2 an advantage, things like that.

Words cannot describe how much I love Shinkiro's Sagat.

Actually, the Arcade version (Sega Naomi GD-ROM) is the original version, not the Dreamcast version, although it is a nailed port of the Arcade (1:1), yes.

It feels like a corrected and rebalanced version of a great game that in itself the PS2 version is a good port of the Naomi arcade version but had problems such as the infamous interlaced effect which in the other versions did not have that effect as well and some bug fixes and as well as the rebalancing of attack and defense ratio of some fighters with slight improvements and decreases in the basic attacks, special moves and super combos and even in the different types of power bar systems a.k.a. Grooves (C, A, P, S, N & K) and something else which does it the honor of being considered as the PRO version of the game.
