WWE only for the back catalogue of older 80s/90s WWF / WCW.
I was hopeful when AEW started to see an alternative to the terrible state of booking on RAW and SMACKDOWN but have gradually got less and less interested in AEW's offerings as time has gone on.
There is some great talent in AEW but the problem comes from the top, Tony simply does not know (or care) how to run a wrestling promotion. The other senior staff from a wrestling background either; aren't interested in dealing with things as a member of management, are too self interested to help develop the promotion further outside their own little cliques (not naming any names), are just happy to be there and have some fun while it lasts.
AEW has even more problems than WCW had in its later years. For the sake of some of the talented staff that work there I hope it continues to be around, but realistically without being the lifelong dream plaything of a Billionaires son I don't realistically see how they can stay relevant.
I also get the impression that some of the former NJPW stars are pining for that environment again, while Okada seems to be enjoying himself as someone who has dealt with the structure and restrictions of being an NJPW talent for most of his career, other talent just seem like their heart isn't really in it anymore - at least that's the impression I get.
The thing that I'd still like a clear answer to is the situation with Scott D'Amore in Impact / TNA, he seemingly did a preety great job in turning the promotion back onto a positive track and yet Anthem got rid of him anyway. Look forward to see what he does with the revival of Maple Leaf.
