Ive got into switch games lately - thanks to eden emulator

switch-carts.900x.jpg

But, so ive learned, theres 4000+ published switch games
Im from the N64 and WiiU days. And those two systems had 47 games total published. Combined

So im in need of a few recomendations, if you find it in your heart to help me

Apreciate if
- If you could recommend some smaller games. Indie games, 2d games. Because on my phone eden wont run the heaviest ones. These i can play on my PC. But im really enjoying to play games on my phone
- I like survival games.
- I like adventure games, like you have to think where to use the right itens
- And i also like games with combat, ive played a few "boomer shooters" and they were good
- I missed most indie games for the past 15 years. I was kinda "against" 2d games. But NOW i can that some of em are pretty good.
- I can play bigger 3d switch/eden games on my computer, so if you can recommend me something nice like those too

Do not want
- The obvious one, zeldas, mario, believe me, i know about these. Terraria, minecraft, starrdew valley, already played those. And i remember ive hated Dont Starve. And also heard the switch port is terrible
- Metroidvanias. Hades clones. 2d plataformers that are just 2d plataformers. I really like games with inventory management, some story, something with a bit more depth than just "really hard 2d indie plataformer"
- Visual novels
- Games with TOO MUCH text. Dear god, developers went too far with the amount of text in their games in the past few years. Stories that are pretty lame streched into pages and pages and pages of badly witten text that you find around the stages...
- Games with PATHETICALLY SMALL FONTS. When did that happened???? Some games have text fonts so small i cant even read it playing with my phone shoved in my face. And ive searched, a lot of people have this same complain
- mobile game ports. Unless they are really good

Would be nice if
- You know those games that look like shovelware but have a nice idea? Like "Flight simulator", "Crash these cars", "Just Destroy stuff"? Is there any of those that are good? Ive got one about landing planes with monster truck wheels that sounded great but was terrible, mobile game slop....
- horror games. Ive set eden on my sister´s phone and she like some simulation and horror games too

So maybe this is a good place to debate about all the huge Nintendo Switch library

Playing Classic DOOM + DOOM II with the paddles disconnected from the console with your arms resting in a comfortable position (criss-crossed for me) is one the best ways to play the game.

Cuphead is a great game with a combination of run-and-gun side scroller levels and tough bosses.

Super Monkey Ball for fun casual use of the gyro controls

Shin Megami Tensei V for a modern take on a tough as nails JRPG formula. Great atmosphere, a great game to sink some time into.

I'm pretty sure Signalis and Crow Country are on that platform, they're indies and some of the most exceptional survival horror games I've ever played.

Moon is also on the Switch, it's a very little known game, it's an adventure-like game all about using items in the right places and for the right people, if you really want to get immersed in a special world I it's my absolute reccomendation.

Just be prepared to express a lot of patience in some areas of the game, and feel free to look up a guide because things get *really* obscure sometimes when it comes to what you have to do.

Ah!
i like games with a good mistery too!!!
Like Iron Lung!

Except iron lung sucked because - like most media built around a mistery - it had a unsatisfactory resolution
Both game and movie sucked - the movie more

I can show you screenshots of my entire library on my Switch. I have like 85 or so games. But I'm a fan of various Nintendo series (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Pokemon, etc) so I have a lot of those on it. There's not many truly exclusive games to Switch that aren't related to one of those series. Most of the games you can find in the Switch library are also available on PC and can be easily pirated. Like for example some good indies like CrossCode, Sea of Stars, Chained Echoes, and Tunic.

Emulating on Eden sounds a lot easier than going for it on PC. Also, on eden i can play on my phone, which is something ive been enjoying a lot (using a controller - a dual sense with a phone grip, to be fair)

Thank you for the names youve droped, like those cross code and tunic (sea of stars ive got it already and yet to start. It does have PT-BR option, so ive also gave it to my sister)
Eu pegava um Nintendo switch desbloqueado
Faz sentido - o preço hoje em dia é bem em conta - mas parte da graça é emular mesmo
E fora que eu nao quero levar um switchao inteiro pra jogar na hora do almoço no trabalho

This one was awful.
"of course it was awful" but its about planes with monster truck wheels, of course i wanted to try
But it seems to be a android port that you only need a single button to "play"

Bom sorte na sua jornada

I don't really play Nintendo games on my Switch, mostly Picross (which won't be much fun on a tiny phone screen). There are some unique PC ports though. A bunch of Infinity Engine games (Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, etc.) that are duded up to work with a controller, which works better than you think. KOTOR is also pretty amazing and probably the easiest way to play the game ATM. UI is annoyingly large though (at least that I remember) but didn't keep me from playing it.

If you like Japanese computer games there are the EGGCONSOLE titles. Outside of the instructions they are in whatever language the original game was presented (which is usually Japanese but also sometimes English). I played through the PC8801 port of Ys III and The Scheme (both have smashing soundtracks).

If you like 90's JRPGs the Cosmic Fantasy Collection 2 has three games on it (CF 3, 4 Prelude to Legend and also Return of Van) and as far as I know these are the only English translations (though naturally there are issues).

Then of course there is Animal Crossing, which is fun (if you are into cozy games). I have a weirdo mouse with a bowl cute named Broccolo whom sometimes likes to end sentences with, "eat it" that is somehow always entertaining.

I hope someone creates translation patches for the PC Engine CD versions of all the Cosmic Fantasy games by using the official scripts for them. I'd like to emulate them. I don't have anything capable of running a Switch emulator, and like $80 is too much for those old games.

I'm kind of unsure whether you'd be cool with a game like cave story or not. To be fair, playing the switch version isn't necessary, its been a free PC game ever since 2004. That being said, the same guy also made a game called Kero Blaster, which is a paid game, and ported to the switch. Both games have a lot of platforming but a lot of combat. Bosses are always fun and challenging. Cave story has a more involved narrative but Kero Blaster is a lot more basic and relaxed. Again, might not be your thing, but you could check them out if youre curious.

Nicalis' version of Cave Story is a better translation than Aeon Genesis' translation of the original freeware version. The best version might be the DSiWare version (which I shared to the repo months ago) since it has everything original except for the translation. Newer versions of Cave Story have altered graphics and character face sets and different touched up music. The official localization by Nicalis just flows better and feels more accurate imo. I've honestly not been a fan of Aeon Genesis and some of his translation hacks leave a lot to be desired. Like the buggy messes that were his Shin Megami Tensei patches. Of course the newer versions of Cave Story are fine if you don't mind the altered graphics and stuff. Another nice way to play it is the fan ported Genesis one. The game sounds amazing with the Yamaha FM chip the Genesis has.

Not sure if i can ask this but anyone know where to get a safe prod.key file? I cannot find one from a place that seems safe... found the firmware though lol
